Hi! I suspect an upgrade is causing problems to a software I really really need for my thesis. This is the upgrade:

2009-09-16 13:12:41 +0200: Installed "Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 5" (1.0)

Is it possible to somehow roll back an upgrade? I can't see any way. I keep backups hourly using time machine, but with the exception of the application directory. What option do I have? I would like to avoid a clean install... :-(
Thanks for any information!

No,
There's no way to undo/rollback any updates to the OS or its applications once updated.

Your only option is to do a system restore/reinstall. Not a pleasant alternative, I know but that's what you're facing.

It seems the update 4 is still available for download. Isn't it possible to install it and overwrite somehow the new one?

Not to my knowledge

try it, of course the risk is that your machine will be worse then before.
