So Apple manager calls me back at end of day like she promised. She says that everything looks good, but she's not sure why she hasn't seen any scans during the day (we spoke at 8am). I said you haven't seen a scan because plane hasn't landed yet. Lands in 15 minutes I said (at the time). Clueless.

So I said it looks like the phones will make it to Anchorage on time or early and then on to Louisville by 1:00am. I said the only thing I want from Apple at this point is to make sure that we get the phones on Saturday instead of Monday. I said if I see that it's in my area but not delivered because Apple didn't want to do the right thing and upgrade for Sat delivery for the inconvenience I will be more than irate. She said it's 50/50 as to whether we will see Saturday deliveries and she was told not to promise anyone. Hope it's Apple being Apple and wanting to seem like they are going above and beyond and underpromising.

I also hope that UPS doesn't screw this up and has enough drivers and trucks to accommodate the Saturday deliveries. Feel close but so far away.

Wow. You take the word "estimated" very seriously. Almost as if it's a guarantee.

OKAY. Update. Just got off the phone with a supervisor at UPS. She said there IS Sat. delivery in my area. She said she cannot guarantee that my phone will be delivered to me tomorrow, but she confirmed that if it goes to where it needs to go tonight on time (i.e. from Anchorage to Louisville to where ever) that it will go out on Sat. I cannot pick it up tomorrow because my customer center is closed.

She is calling me tomorrow at 10 AM to follow up with any status updates. What a ****ing ride this has been. Fingers crossed I can get it tomorrow because if I have to wait until Monday I'm going to lose my mind.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I had to cancel the hold request for both of my iPhones so that way it isn't accidentally held at my customer center till Monday should it make it in time for a Sat. delivery.

"Apparently, the ongoing Hanjin freight company bankruptcy delayed some containers full of iPhones and Apple Watch models from arriving in time for the September 16th launch. Apple Insider says that an “unnamed tech company” paid some of the outstanding shipping port fees on the US Pacific coast for Hanjin vessels so that they can dock and offload Apple cargo."

Hope it comes tomorrow! Mine is also in Alaska! Sorry wasn't able to edit the google doc. I have been out of town and finally got to my computer today. The google doc said I needed to download an app in order to modify it.

Best of luck! I don't see any reason for them not to release the package to you provided it's there and you get there on time. My experiences with my UPS customer center have always been awesome.
 
Mine arrived in Anchorage at 10:41 AM today and I still do not have an scheduled delivery time yet.

I'm 4.5 hours from the KY airhub, if the package makes it there by 1am and out the door by 4am, the UPS track can drive the distance to my local hub and be here by 8:30am for a Saturday delivery, but will that happen??? Nope! So Monday it is for me!
 
Just got off the phone with an Apple Store Manager. She is calling UPS and then calling me back with an update. She also offered me a free case for my phone. So I'll post again when she calls back. I did ask about Saturday delivery and she is looking into it.

Anyone know how to view scheduled departures from UPS WorldPort in Louisville, KY? Trying to see when my phone will head to my nearest airport to see if Sat. delivery is realistic or not.

Okay the manager just called back. UPS said Monday. The manager even looked up if any of the stores in my area had my model in stock and she was going to somehow transfer the purchase. But alas there are none in stock. She did say that she will call me back on Monday and if it is not out for delivery she will have a new one expedited.
