Hi.. I know this is one of those over-asked questions about ROMs, but I believe I've exhausted all the FAQs out there. Please hear me out anyway. I've jailbreaked using iLiberty, installed NES, and managed to AFP into my phone and pasted a ROM into my phone. But NES still says "Please upload ROMs to /var/mobile/Media/ROMs/NES" although I've already pasted the rom into "iPhone Root FileSystem", /var/mobile/Media/ROMs/NES. I've tried reinstalling the NES app too. My phone is 1.1.4, the ROM is .nes extension. Anyone know what I am missing? THanks!!!
Make sure your folders have the correct capitalization. The "ROMs" folder must have a lower case "s".
OK... Red Sox, I've set the folders and the capitalization all properly, unless I'm a bit dyslexic. hehe. just to reiterate, this is the folders: /var/mobile/Media/ROMs/NES darngooddesign. So, I've downloaded Squid, navigated to Applications/NES.app/NES and the permisions is in fact already: 493 (755), like this page suggested it should be. http://www.modmyifone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16264 what else am I missing?
squid does not work properly on the newer firmwares. it doesn't save the permissions. you'll need to look into mobilefinder (with the terminal fixes) or some sort of SSH option.
wooh..thanks billchase2 and darngooddesign So I gave up on squid, and tried mobilefinder (without what terminal fixes?) and still failed. Guess I should have tried the terminal fix. But! I finally gave in and tried the non-Mac way - using WinSCP, and I changed the permission of everything and anything related to ROMs and NES. ca-ching! It works better than AFP (and cleaner too). Darn good it is. Thanks guys!
theres no repo for sega roms, are there? i googled it for while and came up with nothing..any insight?
