Hello, I was just wondering is it possible to gain root access on another device without them being jailbroken or have openssh. Because when I try and access root on another device I keep getting timed out in terminal
Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Root access requires a jailbreak. That is the whole point of jailbreaking.

Are you trying to install spyware on the target phone?

The only other way to interact with part of the file system is by using a program like diskaid or iphone explorer.
