It is an optional install, so PPC apps will work on SL, in general.

Good. I still use Abobe GoLive from time to time, that never went to Intel.

You mean...

It is an optional install, so PPC apps will work on SL, in general.

Do you mean insert the upgrade disk once installed going into an optional installs folder than looking for rosetta or something other than that

I think it is easier than that; you can do it during the SL install by selecting Customize, or you can just try to run a PPC app, and it will prompt you to install Rosetta. Everyone will know in a few days.

We've been working on rewriting our main timetable management app into a universal binary since July on the 10.6 betas as it was a PPC build before. Whenever the old one is launched on a new system, it prompts the user to install Rosetta from the Software Update utility. It's a lightweight package and doesn't take more than a few minutes to complete.

If you can comment, what was the biggest part of the conversion? For most Xcode apps, it was just a matter of checking the box for Intel.

thanks
