Rotating an AVI file

I took a video with my Canon S1 IS in portrait mode, but it seems the orientation sensor in the camera only works for pictures Is there an easy way of rotating the video 90 degrees clockwise? The file is a 45 Mb AVI file, 640x480

There is I think a bit of (free) software called something like transformmovie. Try googling it.

Quicktime pro will do this also. But its not free.

great tip, i thought this was one of the few things windows does better (as movie maker does it) good to know it isn't
