Has anyone experienced any roughness on the side of their phones? It feels like the stainless steel band isn’t so smooth or the glass is slightly further recessed in some way?

It’s hard to describe but Im always catching it on my fingers when I move to the side of the phone on the back.

Can confirm this. Will compare it to some at the apple store next week.

I’m popping into Apple on Saturday to return accidental second Apple Watch order so I will also update when I know.

Glad (ish!!) that I’m not the only one thoigh!

I think a lot of people don't really notice because they slap a case on right away. I never use cases so I feel those rough edges all the time.

Weird. Never noticed because I do the case thing immediately as noted by other poster. The idea of sharp metal edges doesn’t seem consistent with fit and finish I generally experience from Apple, but obviously anything is possible. Would be good to hear what you find at the store and if it’s the norm on display phones for instance.

Have you got them on your phone? Would be interesting to see how widespread this issue could be.

unlikely its the metal or glass - could be the gasket that fits between the two. on my X I had it sticking out too far on one side and it felt horrible. Got it replaced by Apple.

Thanks very much!

So while I wasn't an an apple store I went to a few phone stores and checked out 3 different 11 pro max and compared them to mine. On all of them you could feel some edges either in the front or back but only slightly, none was as bad as mine. I also compared the screens with auto brightness off, true tone off and mine was the best screen. The others were even more yellow and not as bright. So I am kinda reluctant to change because of the rough edges ....

I also took a closer look in direct light and while both sides of the back have kinda rough edges, the left side has a very small (less than 1mm) gap between the metal and the glas. In there you can see some dust or maybe glue residue.

On a plus side Apple gave you a free razor. Big savings for whole year. Lucky youuuu!

Went to Apple today and it was exchanged on the spot.

Best of luck to you all!
