do you think Apple will ever switch to making the Apple Watch in a round face instead of what we have now?

I personally think it would look old fashioned and be hard to read text.

Technically, there already are round watch faces. But as in a round design for a Watch, no, I don’t think Apple has plans for that right now given that there current design is likely for the next few years or so.

I really doubt it. They’re usually pretty loyal to their design language. It would look kind of weird in my opinion.

Round dial will show less information than rectangle. Also, other than showing the analog watch faces it’s really of no good / practical use. There’s a practical reason for apple to choose rectangle to begin with.

I’d like to see more watch faces that are similar to the Hermes ones. A dial that follows the rectangle.

i personally would wear rounded watch. is not hard to read the text from the round face either.

the round face would look stylish and modern rather than old. the current screen looks old and like a flat display put on your wrist.

Round would be boring and less distinguishable from the other round smartwatches such as Samsung's. Personally I hope they never go round. The amount of information that is displayed with the new infograph complications would be nearly impossible on a round face without looking too cluttered.

Eventually yes, like all things designs stagnate and just like iPhone the watch will at some point need a big design overhaul. The S0,1,2 & 3 had the exact same design and I’m sure the 4,5,6 will have the same. It might go round for s7 but more likely on the 10th as a statement

I don’t like reading things on the round faces smart watches. Hope they don’t switch.

I doubt it. Even the rounded corners on the S4 can be annoying for reading text at times.
The trade off is worth it with the rounded corners though, a fully round watch has no benefit.

People seem to forget that round faces on watches wasn’t actually a style / preference thing. It was more of a necessity since the sun dial days and the tradition just carried on because with analog watches a round shape makes optimal use of space.

Digital watches / watch faces don’t need to bound by such restrictions. The Apple Watch is just another screen for the most part and showing more info is probably more of a priority than changing the physical structure of the screen to put unnecessary restrictions on the design for no reason other than personal preference.

Ps. The round watch faces are there to satisfy such personal preferences anyway.
