iPod touch Router doesn't like my ipod

My 2nd gen 3.1 firmware ipod cannot connect to my router. Sometimes it works.
My brother's 1 gen never updated ipod can connect. Whenever i try, it always fail as if i spelled the WEP key wrong, which i didn't.

Change the security settings in ur router to wpa rather than wep

Check to see if MAC address filtering is enabled on the router.
