Ok so I have a WRT54G Linksys router, and a D-link DSS-8+ switch.. I want to uplink from the router to the switch to add more ports to my network.

D-link says that the switch can be connected to other devices via a Cat 5, Straight-Through or Crossover cable.

The D-link switch has a specific uplink port, however the linksys does not.

I have tried to uplink from all ports on the router with a standard cat 5 patch cable with no success.. I am judging success by trying to connect a PC through the switch to the internet..:confused::confused:

Do I need a different switch? Do I have something wrong in the settings, I am really lost and need some serious help:eek:

Dude you rock :D:D:D

I used the port next to the uplink port and shabammm everything works..

Thanks
