Awesome news!

I really hope it has loads of in-app purchases and large banners over most of the screen after every attempt so that I know about the new exciting offers.

I love the varied game play, and the fact that I rarely see merchandise.

It's refreshing to see a company so focused on the quality of the gameplay and not just a relentless drive to extract money from its fans.

I don't want a new game. I want one app with all the angry birds games in one. I didn't stop playing because I was bored, but rather because I had to have an entire folder dedicated to the series. When you combine that with automatic updates it is frustrating to tell which app to launch to get the new levels.

Also, I got a new iPad and had to restart all my games. That sucked too.

Isn't that what Game Center was supposed to be for? Why is that?? This is sort of why I stopped caring about mobile gaming: continuity between devices.

This is either a hilarious misspeak or ultimate proof that Rovio has really milked the franchise wayyy too much.

It's none of those. Angry Birds was their 52nd game, released in 2009. In other words, they made 51 games first (which were not Angry Birds), then they made another game, which was Angry Birds. And there's your "overnight" success.

Sigh.. Most mobile games are just fads. They have that period where everyone is playing it, and then they quickly die off and no amount of updates or sequels can bring it back to its former glory days.

I'll admit Angry Birds is a bit different, as it lasted longer and had an explosion of merchandise, but even they have fallen to the wayside.

Temple Run 2, FarmVille 2, PvZ 2, Fun Run 2, the return of Flappy Bird. All the sequels that popped up after the fad died off from the original games had a fraction of the success (and were riddled with micro transactions). I honestly don't see how Rovio can expect this to take off given other mobile games' track record.

I think I speak for everyone when I say this is the game we've been desperately waiting for.
Please do not speak on my behalf. That is the number 1 thing my girlfriend and I fight about (when she speaks on my behalf). I speak 5 fluent languages, I don't need people speaking on my behalf.

As per the game... no... just wrong, I played Angry birds (1) for 20 seconds before I deleted it with less than zero intention of going back. I am not and have not been "desperately" waiting for any game - especially not Angry birds , I am desperately waiting my new motorcycle. ;-)

I guess the one language you're not fluent in is sarcasm.

A game to such a huge franchise... launching in less than a month and we have no details, no screenshots.

Doesn't bode well. Or, is this how things are in the mobile game world? (I play+develop for consoles and PC)

In the order of the native language(s) being first and second: English, Maltese, Italian, Spanish and French... Attempting to learn German and Romanian but they are actually harder than anticipated.

Angry Flappy Birds vs. Temple ZombieVille Run?

MR editors: I think you made a typo. Headline says "Angry Birds 2." Surely you left out some zeros and commas after "2"? /sarc

Is that five languages fluently? ;)
