It is my understanding that there are many Brits who are not that crazy about the Royals.
I think it's fair to say that there are a great many of us who really don't give a monkey's.

It's very exciting for those directly involved of course and I certainly don't begrudge them their happiness, but a backdrop of blanket television coverage and near hysteria from some really isn't necessary.

Many congratulations to William and Kate and I hope the kid has a brilliant and long life. The news can finally focus on something else now.

I'm angry at my finger for clicking me into this thread.

It risks being chopped off, should it attempt any further clicks relating to the subject of this Royal Baby.

Finger has been warned.

And another. It's just another brat to live off our taxes and keep the tourists happy.

I hope the kid has a brilliant and long life..

Not likely to have anything else as he will be waited on hand and foot all of his life!

Its a miserable time to be in this country.

If you watch the news, the last time it wasn't miserable was during the Olympics last year. We're British. It's our job to be miserable!

Why does anyone care?

I'm just glad Prince William waited two more months to knock her up because I was staying at a hotel across the street from St. Mary's Hospital at the end of May.

I'm so happy about this! The Royal Family is absolutely one of the best things about the United Kingdom!

You sound miserable here! Nice jokes though :D

Congratulations to them. Nice to know the 'succession' is secured for another generation.

I class myself as a bit of a royalist, so this was quite a good day

My reaction to this birth:

I loved Yahoo's article titled "Middleton to give birth. What to expect."

Ummm a baby? :eek::confused:

Sorry if I offend any Brits, but to be fair, I don't even care about famous births of U.S. folks.

So all it takes to be a royal baby is to be born a prince/princess? What is this weak sauce stuff?

Back in my day, a prince had the strength and bravery to slaying a fire breathing dragon and the charisma to convince a princess to kiss him while in frog form. I don't see Chucky, Willy, or Harry doing any of that. Truly the Blue Blood has been watered down over the years.

Princesses back in the day were so noble, they could pee through a dozen mattresses. Or was it feel a pee through a dozen mattress?

Yes sir, back in my days Royalty were higher bred than a hilltop bakery.
