I've already supported the developer by buying the previous versions on iPhone, iPad and Mac, now presumably I'll have to buy them all over again for a relatively minor upgrade. I love Reeder, but I don't think I'll be continually buying every version.

As a consumer, you are entitled to feel that you are not getting your money's worth. But RSS has become more of a niche service, especially after Google Reader shutdown. So the developer is facing much smaller market for Reeder 2 for Mac.

I switched over to NewsBar which syncs your reading list between Mac OS and iOS via iCloud. No need for some special RSS feed service subscriptions.

No worry man. To be honest, I kinda like the fact that there's a typo every now and then. It makes it seem more informal, and personal, and while it might not be as professional, it makes this site seem more like a community than a classic news site.

Besides, the simple fact that you reply to me also emphasizes my point of this being more of a two way dialogue than the classic one way "here are the news" deal you have with news outlets.

I get notifications from 9to5Mac, AppleInsider, and of course MacRumors, but whenever a notification pops from 9to5 or AI, I just think: Can't wait to read that on MacRumors. (Assuming you guys aren't first with that specific article).

In my short time here so far, that's definitely one of the most genuine and honest things I've ever read, so thanks! While I don't like even making the smallest of errors, I'm glad that the rest of the site feels multi-faceted to you and hopefully others. That's why I've been reading the site since I was 12 and I feel like that's why others have stuck around - seeing these communities come alive and put a care toward so many things is such a joy to read. I feel like that isn't the case on so many other tech sites.

As far as the two-way dialogue is concerned, I hope you really do feel that way - I think a big part of being effective is to make sure that you hear everything that comes your way and recognizing the importance of everyone having a voice when there's a platform set up for that cause. So even if I reply only sometimes and put other things in the back of my head, I read everything. To engage you guys and make sure we're on the same page is a good thing, and learning how to take some suggestions is even better.

In regards to that last part, well! Let's just say we try to be the first and most accurate with all stories, but when we're not, we still want to have something great. :D

Have a nice day!

Before Google did shut down the service I was using reeder on iPad iPhone and on the Mac. Now I use feedly and I will not pay for reeder again. As other posters pointed out. The communication from the developer as really lacking. In addition I see no reason why I should pay again.

Almost every software looks great on Mac OS X systems; I'm a windows 8.1 user (not loving it, only because financial issues) and whenever I see an app screenshot like this; a drop of tear is trying to make its way out of my eye.

Agree totally. One can see that a lot of software developers doing OS X applications really care about graphical design.

Still, I was talking to this guy saying he prefers Windows' look because it's more colourful. I'm quite sure he wasn't into graphical design at least…*:)

Readkit does offer more.

I chose Reeder because it is much faster than Readkit.

But a discount for users (like me) of the first version would be good news to get from the developer.

Unfortunately in App Store it is impossible to do a discount only for existing users - so he'd have to take a hit and make a discount for everyone... As a fellow developer I don't see a big issue with no discount - I like to support my colleagues.

I will stick with Feedly, works well and is Free. 9.99 for reeder 2 is too much, especially after having paid for the 1st version and the being dumped.

Decided to hold off buying as the developer will probably charge us again for the OS X 10.10 interface update.

Didn't see any mention of what RSS services Reeder 2 supports but if it's like the iOS version, they are all paid services...too expensive just for RSS syncing so think I'm done with Reeder 2.

This thing is awesome! I am very very impressed with both the Mac and iOS (iPad and iPhone) versions.

I am so glad this app is back.

I know it syncs with Feedly and that is free.

Bought it...again

I told myself I wasn't going to pay for Reeder again but I purchased 2.0 and I'm pleased with the product. It's worth $9.99.

Syncing with Feedly.

You can count me in the "Not purchasing again" boat. I've purchased the app several times for iPhone/iPad, and once for Mac. It's been a year without a Reeder for Mac, with little communication, during which time I found ReadKit. I'll be sticking with ReadKit, rather than giving more money to a developer that I'm not quite sure deserves it.
