The reason everyone always talks about China and never India is because of how protectionist India's economy is and has been for a long time. It's really held India back. I'm glad to hear they may be opening up at least a little bit finally. Maybe once the money starts flowing and standard of living gets better, India will abandon protectionism for good.

India's attitude towards FDI is due to its colonial past. The British Raj started out as a trade arrangement. The East India Company did business in India but it gradually morphed into a land grab. India is terrified that a foreign company will set up shop in India and bleed it dry of its valuable resources.

I know where India's mistrust of foreign companies comes from, but if India's protectionistic policies had actually done anything to protect domestic business, I would have been more understanding. Instead, India's policies ended up stifling all sorts of business.

This is not unexpected, but disappointing that a such a massive Chinese manufacturer will not distribute its workforce in a manner more consistent with global parity.

I just at times feel a little bad, I was born in India but I'm only half an Indian with British ancestry and believe me, for almost 22 years of my life, I was never a fan of that place.
But..
Things are actually changing with the new set of rules, and an updated government which is believe it or working for India against the previous "family orianted" idiots.

Now that the things are actually getting better, albeit at a slow place and that's understandable as it was horrible in the previous times with open ended corruption and still is, but even a little progress that has happened is a big deal when governing such a large populace.

India even got a better rank in the http://www.livemint.com/Politics/Ec...roves-ranking-in-global-corruption-index.html
While countries such as Brazil got worse, and it's surprisingly better score in the Indian subcontinent.

Sorry for the rant, I just idolised the western standard growing up that there is very little of India left in me, but however it's perceived over here is like a spit in the face.

You couldn't have been further from the truth. Just being half an Indian doesn't make you an expert on what is actually going on here. This is a government which does not have a single qualified minister. The PM did not even finish schooling. Our Education minister is an illiterate FFS!!!

This government is just doing what it did not let the previous govt. do. FDI, MNREGA, and many other things. The previous "family oriented idiots" wanted to bring in FDI in 2010. And these people who protested now think its cool. Have attached an image of the tweets the current PM made before he was PM. And FDI in the defence sector? WTF? These guys are super high on Meth.

We had a PM who was a gold medalist (Manmohan Singh) we had a Finance Minister who actually knew economics and helped us survive the 2008 crisis. We managed to get an RBI Governor who is a world renowned economist. When the international crude was at $140 a barrel petrol rates were at Rs. 70 a litre. When crude prices are at a record low at $30-35 a barrel we still had the same prices.

In fact the government morons hounded the RBI Governor into not quitting. Inflation is at an all time high. Job creation at an all time low. The only thing this moronic uneducated piece of **** PM can do is give speeches. And nothing else. I voted for this moron. Got carried away by the huge PR **** which went on for a year. Sponsored by the Adani and Ambani families. Which are the only ones really making money now. Adani's value has increased tremendously in the last two years.

Also the religious intolerance has increased 10 fold. Thanks to the Hindu ISIS we have in India called the RSS. Which is the parent organization of the BJP (current ruling party). They have been declared a terrorists organization even by the USA.

Next time you feel entitled to comment because you are HALF INDIAN at least do us a favour of checking facts before vomiting ****.

Thank you. Have a good day.

Certainly, and I would argue a lot of their economic policies are just part of the culture dating back to ancient times, as well. India is a fascinating civilization, with a long and deservedly proud history. Unfortunately they've let their pride and some of their more recent history affect decisions for the worse. Would be great to see them begin to emerge and join the global community more. It can only be good for India, and good for the world.

Jesus, I would suggest for you to get some anger management counselling but you rather sound more of those "cyber cell" which goes on a rampage and get paid to do so too.

Good or bad, I'd rather wait and see till their tenure ends and then compare off the results.
As far as I know, they are hypocrites, yes.
But, you do remember the scams of the past, yes?
You also do see the aftermath of it over here.

Don't even get me started off the "religious intolerance", and what was it?
Ah, the "return of awards".

I hated the previous government, I hate this government too, albeit a bit less.
I'm not into politics either way.

Oh and I'm guessing you must be amongst the "am admi group", I hate those too, I'm just calling their bluff.

Regardless, have a great day to you as well.
See how much better it is without any cussing?
It's unnecessary really. :)

Yep when you are shown the truth and the depth of your ignorance put people in the bracket of paid cyber warriors. Alas.

I'm on for only one thing NOTA (none of the above) and yea you can try to put me down by stating that I'm from the cyber cell who gets paid. But I'm sorry I'm not. I'm just a simple citizen who's trying to make a living while watching my country go to the dogs.

And no this government of buffoons isn't in any way better. The scams are worse than the previous governments. Try researching the vyapam scam.

The aap I assumed was the worst of the lot. But apparently they are doing decent work in Delhi.

And the anger isn't personal. Just tired of people making judgements by taking the mainstream media as the holy grail of true info.
