It's not a big deal either way. I have both the braided and regular one.

Which do you prefer and why?

I've been using a 3rd party braided cable for the past 3ish years and it's in perfect condition still. They seem more durable from my experience. That said, all of my regular cables are in pretty good condition too although they do have some small tears.

Great to get some feedback on them. I am now using the braided one. I like it! I was using the regular one before.

I am indifferent because I already have numerous charging cables (both lighting and usb-c) as well as magsafe. That cable will probably just lie untouched in its original packaging, as did all the other accessories that came with my previous iPhone purchases.

Yes but if its 2.0 I will use it for charging only. Will buy a faster rated cable for wired data transfer.

I’m worried one of my cats will chew braided cable. He is a chewer and drawn to that texture. I’ll use it in rooms he doesn’t have access to.

Braided cables are so much better than the official Apple cables which are cheap and flimsy. I purchased 2 of them 3 years ago, one for a 5w charger and the other for a 25w fast charger and both are working perfectly to this day. I use them on my older phones and iPads as my iPhone 13 is only charged wirelessly.

I like braided. Better to me. Prefer the braided cable on the MBAM2. Lasts longer than the typical cables that comes with iPhones.
