This is the Apple product I'm most hyped about this year.

It could be the perfect sized phone. Let's just hope Apple doesn't cripple it by using sub-par materials, display resolution or cameras.

The schematics should leak soon, shouldn't they? We normally get those between the jan-march timeframe, but I guess things are a bit slow at the moment...

I hate so much the fact that 5.4inch wont have full specs i.e triple camera

Total dilema on what to purchase for me, instead of 100% clarity

I don't need the best camera for my phone. I have a digital SLR for that.

I am looking forward to this 5.4 inch model. As long as it has the same A chip and other improvements, this will be my next upgrade.

I love that the 5.4" will be slightly narrower than my iPhone 8, I'm hoping the screen is a hare narrower and the side bezels are too. Will make it really easy to hold one handed.

I don’t know what the global OLED supply chain looks like, but it’s pretty disappointing to hear of yet another Chinese supplier added to the mix. Apple, and the rest of the world, should be attempting to diversify away from China at all costs, not become more reliant on them.

But its about the assemby workers and consequently the bottom line for Apple. Follow the $$$

A long long time since the current + previous model strategy, canny help but wonder if this is just too many models?

The 5.4 inch iPhone 12 will likely take the price position now occupied by the 6.1 inch iPhone 11, that is $699. The 6.1 inch iPhone 12 will likely be $749, or more likely $799. The OLED and 5G will boost the cost of the phone, so Apple will introduce a smaller phone at the $699 price point. The iPhone 11 Pros will be discontinued. The iPhone 11 (6.1 inch) will move into the $599 slot, and likely be a big seller. The iPhone XR will likely be sold at $499. The iPhone 9 will be $399. The iPhone 8 will be discontinued.

At this point I'd just like an iPhone 8 size phone, with a full screen design, and a 1080p LCD. I'm not interested in OLED or the prices the technology demands.

How many are too many? This is a vast marketplace of several billion customers. Why not have a few different variants? (Not just large and extra large)

Exactly.

People always say "Apple makes too many products"... but then they also complain when Apple doesn't make the exact product they want. It seems like Apple can never win.

Apple only has 6 phones in their current lineup... and 2 of those are size variants. That doesn't sound like "too many"

But Huawei has 28 current models... including separate models for 5G. It sounds ridiculous even typing that! :p

Too bad BOE has been shown to produce the lowest quality screens for laptops (and phones) compared to LG and Samsung among others

5.4” iPhone smaller than the iPhone 8. My testosterone is always spiking every time I hear this line.

I’ve been getting Google Pixel phones the last few years, but if they made an iPhone with 5.4-inch screen I would probably switch back. (Though I still prefer my Pixel 4’s photo quality to my partner’s iPhone 11 Pro.)
