While we've seen plenty of mockups and more recently a few claimed legitimate exterior parts such as rear shells and front panels from the iPhone 6, little in the way of internal parts as surfaced so far. But three new photos surfacing today (via show what are claimed to be a pair of flex cable parts from the iPhone 6.

The photos are of fairly poor quality and it is not specified whether the parts are from the 4.7-inch or 5.5-inch model, but the parts do closely resemble legitimate parts from other devices and an Apple logo and Apple-style part number are present on one of them.

    iPhone 6 volume/mute flex cable
Unlike on the iPhone 5s, where a single part houses both the left side volume buttons/mute switch and the top power button, these iPhone 6 parts show the two areas on separate flex cables. This change would seem to be consistent with the larger size of the iPhone 6 and the reported shift in the location of the power button from the top edge to the right edge.

    iPhone 6 volume/mute flex cable
One cable, which is shown from the front and back in two of the photos, appears to simply contain the volume buttons and mute switch. There appears to be greater separation between the volume buttons and mute switch than on corresponding parts from previous iPhones, but it is unclear just how much extra distance there might be in the finished product given the flexibility of these cables. Mockups and drawings have shown elongated volume buttons and perhaps a little extra distance separating the mute switch, but the difference does not appear as significant as suggested by the flex cable part.

Separate iPhone 6 flex cable with what appears to be power button
The second flex cable shown in the photos is less clear in terms of function, but appears to include the power button, although Kyle Wiens of iFixit points out that it looks somewhat larger than on previous models.

Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 6 around September of this year, with a larger display being the key feature for the device. Other likely improvements include a new A8 chip, camera enhancements, and perhaps a more durable Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

So all the usual case/component leaks for the iPhone 6, but still nothing for the iWatch. Do people still think it's coming this year (or ever)?

wow those parts look soooo awful. iPhone 6 will be very ugly. Jony has lost it. Tim never had it. We miss Scott and Steve never would have allowed this.

You can hit the volume buttons and they will increase or decrease the volume. If you hit the power button, it will turn off and turn on the iPhone.

If those parts were photographed on someone's decking, they're enormous.

Maybe the iwatch like mac pro is design and build in US, so no leaks from the Chineeese people :d

I had never thought of this, but I think I agree with you. The sapphire plant is in AZ. It would make sense that they would be made in the US. Yes, I understand that the sapphire could be for the iPhone. Yes, I understand that sapphire can be shipped. But this would make it more plausible while not having any leaks.

Wow, aren't these part leaks a little out of sync?

Thanks to the mockups, we already supposedly know what the entire 4.7" and 5" iPhone 6 will look like. We typically see blurry leaked internal components like these way in advance.

Gives me hope that the "mockup" blue print released a few months ago, that everyone has based their mockups on, is completely false :D

It could be announced in October for sale in December. Don't forget, Apple wants a really short time between announcing the iPhone 6 and shipping it. This matters less for a brand new product. So, to keep it a surprise, they'll wait before instructing the factories to churn them out by the truck load. :)

These parts seem to confirm the larger iPhone 6 chassis rumors. I guess that's all they could really mean. All these little 'leaks' and rumors seem to add up. It's pretty much a forgone conclusion that there will be few if any hardware surprises during Apple's September event.

It's pretty blurry, but did anyone try scanning the QR code on the part in the photo? What does it lead to I wonder?

And are there QR codes on similar parts in existing iPhones?

For comparison, here is the iPhone 5's version of the same part:

Notice how it has power/mute/volume customized to run along a single cable.
