Run Mountain Lion installer under Mavericks to install ML on a second partition

Hi,

I've upgraded to Mavericks (Developer Preview) and would now like to set up a second partition with Mountain Lion. I've got the installer from the AppStore and created the partition using Disk Utility. However, when I try to start the installer it prompts me that "OS X 10.8 can't be installed on this computer".
Any ideas how to get it to install on the second partition?
