I need an app where I can run for a certain time and then walk for a certain time.

I need it to be able to work while the nike + app is working also.

Thanks

You can only use one app at a time. Either use Nike, Apple Workouts, or even Apple works HITT selected.

Just a quick question regarding the need for Nike+ (aka NRC).

Why do you need to have NRC working at the same time as this other app? Are you just looking to maintain your stats on the Nike service?

If so, there are ways to get your data to Nike, even after they've killed just about all of the previous vectors in importing data into Nike.

The simplest way to get data into Nike (obviously excluding the use of the NRC app), would be to use an app that exports straight into Garmin Connect. You can sign up for a free Garmin Connect account on their website and then input the Garmin credentials into your NRC app. What happens is that whenever something pops up to Garmin Connect, NRC will pull that data and import it into Nike.

An alternate would be to use an app like RunGap or HealthFit and export that data to Garmin, which then transfers over to Nike.

As for an app that tracks run/walk/run type workouts, you can use iSmoothRun. You can construct your own types of workouts like Run 2 minutes, Walk 20 seconds, etc. I've not used these workouts in iSR (i just run continuously at pace for 30 minutes), but others may be able to add to this discussion. iSR can upload right into Garmin, so your data will get to Nike quite easily.
