EDIT: Though you meant iMac but yes, it's fine as spinnerlys said. It can drive up to 2560x1600 without any issues
 
where does it say a 15in macbook i5 can support it? Sorry not very skilled with the terminology.

An early 2006 MacBook with Intel 950 integrated graphics handles it just fine. :D so I hope it is not too hard work for a new Mac.
