    Greetings.

I made a java program in Eclipse. On Windows it works perfectly, I just select "Export as .jar-file" in Eclipse and then when I open the .jar-file the program starts.

On Mac OS X 10.6.8 however the program doesn't work at all. The file can't even be opened.

Can someone please tell me how I make the program runnable on OS X 10.6.8?

When things like this happen, I always check the Console to see the error messages. Console lives in your Utilities folder, inside Applications. That usually tells me right away what's gone wrong.

After you attempt to launch it, try hiding any windows you have on screen. The notification about needing to install a Java VM sometimes hides behind all your other windows.
