Running app in background works for a little bit!? Weird!

Ok so today I was listening to Flycast Radio on my iPhone. I pressed the home button and quickly clicked the iPod icon.After a few seconds of loading my songs, they all showed up, but the funny thing is, even after all my songs showed up, the music from Flycast radio was still playing for a few seconds! Anyone else experience this?

The app wasn't running in the background. It just took awhile for the sound channel to finish flushing what was already buffered up.
