So a few people use running / fitness apps and I have tested a few that have "always on" some work and some don't.

App's that have always on activated and it works below.

Nike Running Club (newly updated yesterday) this worked perfect on testing today.
YouRace
Intervals Pro
Zones
Apple WorkOut App
(FitBod - Strong - Tempo - Athlytic few additional weights / strength/ stats app that work also)

App's where always on but doesn't work properly, i.e live stats pace/time/hr etc do not refresh every second, they either freeze until wrist raise or refresh every minute.

iSmoothrun (dev says this is fixed next update)
Adidas Runtastic
RunKeeper
Stryd (they may remove it totally, as they need rebuild their whole app on a new system ui to make it work correct, so don't expect this anytime soon)

Not sure if this helps anyone but it's always handy if fancy a change of all.

The apps I hope eventually get it sorted and working 100% would be WorkOutdoors, iSmoothrun and Stryd.

Feel free to add any Running or fitness/strength apps that have implemented it properly or not properly.

PS

You can check status of Always On for Apple Watch on OS8 in

Watch OS app - display and brightness - always on - toggle apps what you want as always on

iSmoothRun is by far my favorite running app. Easy to use, infinite interval possibilities, tracks lots of metrics, including shoes, and is customizable. I am looking forward to the properly working always on as the current version is not much better than not having always on.

Yeah, I toggled "always on" off on iSmoothrun until I see changelog notes in an update when it's sorted.

Hopefully it will be soon, but we will see.
