Good morning -
First, I am very excited for everyone that will be getting their new toy on 11/3. I decided to sit this one out for a little while and wait for the reviews from members on this forum. Always exciting to get a new toy and best real usage reviews will come from this group of people.

Now for the real purpose of this thread...

I have two iPhones, a new personal iPhone 8 and a work provided iPhone 6S. Our employer will NOT allow us to set up our Apple ID using our work email. What I had done is to setup the work provided iPhone 6S to use the same Apple ID as my personal one.

When setting up the new personal iPhone 8 earlier this week, I created the PIN through the setup process and then later was prompted to also input the PIN again. I assumed I had mistyped it. I input the PIN but it did not work. After reading the prompt closer, my personal phone was prompting me to input the PIN code that I had setup on my work iPhone. I guess I was surprised how my personal phone would even know about my work iPhone, let alone require the work iPhone to proceed.

Is this related to using the same Apple ID on both phones? Is there a way for my personal phone to forget about the work iPhone? I see no reason for me to care about my work iPhone PIN from a personal iPhone perspective.

I appreciate the input on this.
