Hey there, I'm trying to upgrade from 10.13.6 to Mojave on my 2012 5,1. I have an RX 580 installed, my boot ROM is 9144.1.0.1.0, which I thought was upgraded to 144.0.0.0.0 in the process of upgrading to Mojave. I've upgraded the CPUs to dual x5690s, and I have OpenCore installed so I can boot. I've tried both natively installing Mojave using the App Store download, as well as creating a bootable USB installer; I've tried on both my startup disk and a fresh, separate SSD. I keep running into a fatal error during the installation. The screen glitches out and shows an error log. I've attached the installer log and a video of the attempted upgrade below. Does anyone have an idea of what's going wrong?

9144.1.0.1.0 is a spoofed string thru OpenCore.

You should not run Mojave thru OpenCore.

Also check the real firmware version either with a supported OS like High Sierra without OpenCore or with the Dumper (in my signature).

Ok, so should I uninstall OpenCore and then try upgrading to Mojave? In that case, how do I work around the lack of a boot screen with my graphics card? When I tried installing the 580 without OpenCore, I never got any output, not even in recovery mode. I had to reconnect my old 5770, install OpenCore, then plug in the new card to see anything. My end goal is to upgrade to Monterey, but I read that it’s easier to do that from Mojave rather than straight from HS.

So you either go the update path or upgrade / let upgrade it by reconstruction.
I’m just going to try a fresh install and then restore from Time Machine. Currently following the above guide. Uninstalled OpenCore, going to remove everything but a clean drive and the installer USB, boot, install to the clean drive from the USB, and that should do it, right?

This had everything I needed, thanks bro
Here is the Bible.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, @Macschrauber
