Point itunes just like the first screenshot but click one level deeper. So select "itunes music"

I did that also, nothing happens.
 
trainguy77 is right... I had mine set to the iTunes folder which works fine except that it imports new songs into that folder instead of the iTunes Music subfolder...stupid me.

anyway, not sure why it doesn't work on your machine, sorry. If you don't worry about losing your playlists and ratings, then you could probably just uncheck 'copy to iTunes music folder' and then select 'add to library' and select your music folder...

But damn, what are we missing? :confused:

Hmm... Could it be that my last Mac was a PPC, and that's causing the prooblems? I was trying to figure out how to open software from my external, but it wasn't working and asked on the forums, and realized the bootable copy I made was from a PPC, and it won't work on the intel. I don't know why that would interefere with mp3 music files though.
