This may not be the correct forum but I'm hoping you guys could help me. I am selling 2 of my iBook G4s to my brother who is wanting them solely for his kids to run Warcraft II under Classic (they are running 10.4.11) and play against each other via network/multiplayer. Classic is running great, my problem is that when I am in the game, and we go to create a network for multiplayers, it says "please insert Warcraft II CD-ROM." Well, the CD is definitely in the drive, it worked just fine to install the game itself, and I never took the disc out...but the game doesn't see that it's still in there. The disc drive is no longer making any type of noise.

My guess is that since it's being played under Classic, and not a full-fledged OS 9 computer, Classic isn't able to see/utilize the CD drive, so is that right and would I need an OS 9-compatible computer for the game to see the CD? Or am I just missing a key step somewhere?

Any help is appreciated.

Have you patched Warcraft II to the latest available version?
Usually, Blizzard removes copy protection measures which require you to insert the CD in the latest patches they release.
You may also try to use Warcraft II Battle.net edition instead.
