So these days, I now have plenty of room on my computer thanks to your guys guidance. Yet the 'beachball' is showing up just as often, if not more, these days. I'm not positive if this happens across the board on my computer, but it's definitely happening when I'm on the internet, which is 98% of my computer use. (Nothing about my internet connection has changed, if that matters.) Something seems not right -- possible suspects?

friend of mine has a 2013 Macbook Air 11" with 4GB of memory. she was having performance issues. i recommended for her to manually back up her files onto an external hard drive then restore the Macbook Air to factory settings and reformat everything off. she did that, then put her files back on and re-installed her programs. now she says her Macbook runs as good as it was brand new.

i tend to reformat all of my machines every couple of years. keeps things fresh and running optimally

So do something similar to restoring your iphone as new and then backing up from the cloud?

Thanks. So I should get some sort of external hard drive thing and move my music onto that? I'm guessing this is something I can get at Best Buy.

Is my computer likely to run better once I make some room on it, or is that probably not related?

You don't have an external HD for backups? That's a disaster waiting to happen GET ONE NOW. They're cheap and necessary if you have anything at all you want to keep.
