Back with the Classic Mac OS there was a program called Bernie the Rescue that allowed one to run Apple II apps on the Mac (Oregon Trail, Mickey's Space Adventure, and so on). Is there a replacement for OSX or a way to run Apple II on the modern mac's?

A quick Google and about 3 minutes, and I have a Apple IIe up and running.

ROMs and stuff...

That's as far as I've gotten. You'll have to find the disk images for the titles you mentioned. Shouldn't be hard... I know Oregon Trail is out there.

If you're just feeling a little nostalgic, you can always try the Apple II simulator online....

... Oregon Trail included!

Is there a difference between the IIE and the IIgs because I am unable to get my old Bernie II the rescue rooms to work under the IIE emulator?

For those who like making things convoluted, there's also the option of running Sheepshaver to emulate a Mac Classic environment, and then you could run your Bernie II the Rescue there.

:)

That one used to work, but no longer does under the later versions of Mac OS.
