Running Windows from firewire 800

    Not through Boot Camp, no. A Parallels or VMWare image on the FireWire drive would work, but I don't believe that's what you want.

    I don't think Windows can boot off of external drives of any nature, FW or USB.

    In the past, windows was not able to run off of a removable disk. People have done it, but it took serious hacking. I'm sure win7 is the same way, i.e., no go on the fw800 disk.

    Good to know, thanks for the input.

    So a better tactic would seem to be partitioning some of my internal drive to windows, and then use the external for storage, rather than the Windows OS.
