I got an Apple Watch Series 3 Nike+ watch today & got it set up.

I tried Workouts, NRC and Mapmyrun + during a 40 minute treadmill run.

Workouts logged almost exactly what my treadmill recorded and reported to the Health app. NRC worked ok but distance, etc. seemed off. Mapmyrun did the worst and didn't log anything from my watch to the app itself.

Probably noobie mistakes - but I want something solid and reliable I can use for running and workouts every day. Any suggestions on what works and what does not work? Thanks.

It’s going to take a few days for the algorithms to tailor their output to your metrics. In short, the watch needs some time to learn your habits before becoming more and more accurate over time.

As for logging, I’d make sure everything is up to date. I don’t personally use any third party apps for my watch data so I can’t speak to what kind of issues exist in that realm.

Have you ran outside for 20 minutes to calabrate your stride length/cadence?

Not yet Julien - we have 8 inches of snow but hoping to tomorrow sometime. Been a snowy last couple days.
