So far I'm enjoying the touch id performance jump the best. I never thought my iPhone 6 was sluggish by any means.

You're possibly not the person to comment in this thread then. I'm interested what the folks who thought their 6+ was a POS think of the 6S+.

As A10 will be a huge leap over A9. It goes without saying.

Based on history, not necessarilly

The only "numbered" model to receive a solid hardware update was the iPhone 5 with the A6 chip and double the RAM, and a much faster CPU. Even then, the GPU was not in a different league and camera was mostly the same to the previous generation (4S).

iPhone 3G was essentially identical chipset wise to the original iPhone; the iPhone 4 used the same CPU and GPU as the 3GS, with a slightly higher clocked CPU and double the RAM; the iPhone 6 as another user mentioned was almost identical in power to the iPhone 6/6+ and used the same RAM.

Now, never say never - but making statements such as "A10 will be a huge leap over A9" are premature. The A8 was not a big upgrade at all over the A7, but the A9 is a big upgrade over the A8.

Can we not just enjoy the A9 right now, and how ridiculously powerful it is for a mobile chip?

touch id seems instant to me, landscape view working correctly, camera seems much better, more to come, only had since 9am

I assume the 2 "no" votes are just 6/6+ users trolling in jealousy.

For the record, I didn't vote. And I wasn't trying to troll, I just think it's a little unfair to release something that doesn't work as well as previous generations of your flagship devices, as sort of an obvious trial run for the future.

I haven't voted either, and I'm an ex-6+ owner with a 6S+ on order.
Knowing how pizzle-poor the 6+ was I'm scanning these boards like a hawk for feedback on the 6S+.

Fear not. The 6S+ packs a MAJOR performance improvement. I had the 6+.

don't worry guys, iOS 10 will turn your shiny blazing fast 6s+ into a 6+ next year.
I highly doubt it. The first new product in each line of iOS devices tends to be barely powerful enough to get by- the second product is usually far more able to meet the demands of newer iOS versions.

For some examples: iPad to iPad 2, Mini 1 to Mini 2, 6 Plus to 6s Plus. When it comes to the retina display, both the iPhone 4 and iPad 3 had GPUs that were much, MUCH slower than the second generation retina device that followed.

air2 on 8.4 jailbroken and tweaked out a bit, and 6s+ on 9.0.1 stock of course since no JB, benched:

I'm loving what I'm seeing here :)

my 6 plus benched on 8.4 jailbroken with a lot of tweaks:

I'm angry. Apple should give me a 6S+ for selling me a subpar 6+ with insufficient RAM. I want no app refreshes, no tab reloading in Safari. For $900, I think I should have received that.
Entitlement.

Entitlement.

Pfffffft. Maybe if it were a $100 flip phone or something. Apple rushed the original 6+ to market, and the way the screen downsizes pixels and draws things up a much higher resolution, it just isn't capable of running at peak performance on 1GB. I guess I could have returned it before 14 days. But it's far from entitlement, Apple is one of the largest companies in the history of the world. They released a crappy $900 product and I am unhappy with it.

But you were free to return it if you didn't like it. Why should they give you a free phone because you bought a previous phone and didn't like it.

We are all free to spend our money how we choose. If you feel something was sub par then why spend the money then complain. That's the way I look at it.

I am very happy too. The WiFi speeds are amazing. Maps and other items seem to pop up on the screen rather than generate slowly. Amazing. I am not have any lag issue other than maybe the first 30 minutes after the restore from an encrypted iTunes backup. All is slick and buttery now. Quicker than my 6+.

Are we doing this again. ;)

Yes, cause it's still true. The screen refreshes pixels at an enormous rate, mugh higher than that of the 6. And it effects performance. It is valid criticism and no amount of blind loyalty to the brand will change it. They duped us.

Lol then take it back or get a refund. Smh Apple duped anyone.

This is the device the first plus should have been. Forget the 3D Touch. Forget Live Photos. Selfie camera. Etc. the performance is finally where it needed to be. Reloading tabs was a nightmare. In hindsight I should have just returned the phone but I stayed with that abusive relationship for the screen size. The only good thing I have to say about that phone is that it allowed me to appreciate the 6s plus that much more.

I love my new 6S Plus! I will no longer upgrade to the standard iPhones, it'll be the "S" like and the "S" line only going forward!

I've been thinking of doing the same thing, upgrading on the "S" years.

Are the iPhone a bit easier to get in the "S" years? I skipped the 5s launch, but I had an fairly easy time getting a 6s Plus this year, compared to last year, where I gave up trying to get an 6 Plus.

I'd say so, by this time everyone will of had their fills with the new iPhones and the only ones looking for the "S" line will be tech geeks like us and newer customers looking to jump in.
