Hi,

Normally, when I go to sleep my watch is always around 25-35 % battery left. I installed wOS4 yesterday and now I'm going to bed at 14 %.

Does anyone see that much difference ? Today was a typical day for me and I didn't use the watch more than usual...

thanks

Series 2 here, been on the WatchOS 4 beta for a while now and if anything my battery life has been better.
Currently at 69%, put it on about 7AM this morning, 10:15PM now. Includes 30 minutes of biking.

What would you say your overall usage is? From 7:15am at 100% this morning, I cycled for 30min and did 15min of strength training, down to about 86% I think it was. Charged it while in the shower and got ready for work to 95%. End of the day now I’m at 49% at 10:20pm.

Battery life doesn’t seem too bad. I check glance at notifications on my watch but only really interact with the Activity ones. The others I pull out the phone if I really need to engage something. Maybe your watch is still smoothing out with the new Watch OS 4?

I did a hard reboot of both AW and iphone. I'm at 99 % right now and it's been 3 hours so I think it's kind of fixed !

I've noticed my battery life on my series 2 has been draining faster than normal as well

My original watch is draining very fast since os4.
Only 19% left after only using it for 7 hours (normally 70-50% after that time)

Doesn't make sense... Today my series 2 has been on my wrist 6 hours so far and I'm at 98%.
FWIW, I'm typically within range of / connected my phone. Not sure if hunting for connection may consume more battery?

My S0 is draining a bit faster - rarely ever dies but died pretty early yesterday. Seems to be draining more today as well

My 38mm S0 battery life has improved under watchOS 4 so far. i installed OS4 on Tuesday night. Yesterday I had 44% left after 14 hours, and with OS3 I would usually be down to 20-25% with no workouts. Today I have 95% left after 3 hours. It makes me wonder if I haven't opened an app yet that was previously using a lot of battery to sync data. I also haven't run any workouts yet. Under OS3 it seemed like workouts were draining my battery at the rate of 10% an hour.

I've noticed an increase in battery drain on my S0. Currently at 54% and I've had the watch on since 7:30 am with minimal activity. Typically I'd have 40% +/- by about 9:30 pm. Will be curious to see what my battery % will be in another 5 hours. Maybe it will have run out of juice which will be a first. Might be time for an upgrade.

How do you install OS 4? My watch is running OS 3.2.3 and is supposedly up-to-date.

took my watch off charge this morning at 7.30, 6 hours later and I've used 20%...

that said, each day varies for me and I never have a steady baseline on which to judge so can't say if OS4 is better worse

You need to be running iOS11 in order to get OS4

Thanks. I'm updating my hone to iOS 11.

Ok guys I confirm hard rebooting my AW and iphone fixed the thing. I’m at 33% right now and it’s been 13 hours since I woke up. On top of that, I did an hour and a half of trainning with bluethooth strap attached to it.

Damn I love the look of watchOS4 ! So much better

42mm S0 here and battery life has gone down a lot since updating to 4, plus I am no longer getting any stand notifications nor do I get the ding when putting it on the charger

All you did was hard reboot both?? I am still having issues.

Judging battery life the first day, or even during the first week after a release is usually not a good idea. Remember that we're getting tons of app updates right now, and many of those include updates to the watch apps. I've noticed that they don't always update while the watch is charging. In fact, I checked my watch just now and about a dozen apps all decided to update at once. And these appear to be apps that were updated days ago on my phone.

Turning off watch background app refresh and turning off location services for Apple Watch faces has improved os4 battery life to where it’ll make it though a whole day. But os4 is still god awful as compared with 3.x.

Can't believe it, but this may have done it (for now). I definitely hard rebooted the watch many times in the upgrade/beta process, but maybe it had to be on the final software or whatever. Either way, thanks for the advice. At 44% now after taking my watch off the dock at 7:30AM.
