Is there a sleep mode or is it based off of your general movement? Is this a 3rd party app?

At first I used Heartwatch for sleep tracking with its manual start/stop. Then I got Autosleep by the same developer. Now I don't think about it and it accurately catches my starts and stops. It even recognizes a 30 min nap if I drift off during a football game on the recliner. Good stuff.
[doublepost=1514731642][/doublepost]Not sure, but I think Autosleep "learns" and uses a combination of movement and recognized historical sleeping HR to recognize sleep. It's scary accurate with starts and stops.
[doublepost=1514731736][/doublepost]If I get up to the restroom at 2:00 am it still shows that as sleep, but with associated movement and HR increases. If I get up for a few more steps like to kitchen and around the house it discounts that as sleep until I'm back to sleep. Very impressive.

Unless you get a significant discount, I'd go with the S3, just because it will be supported for longer, and will be faster for longer. My S2 is already notably slower on watchOS 4 (especially the workout app). So unless you're getting an £100 or so off the price of the S3, I would say it's worth the additional investment.

I really only need actionable notifications and activity tracking and for it to be able to display calendar and reminder info. Oh and control my music.

I think the Garmin vivosmart actually does most of this but looks like something you’d have to wear if you’re on house arrest and doesn’t have actionable notifications. It also lasts up to 4 days and costs around 2x less than the S3.

But...

Honestly for my needs the S0 with a lot better battery life would’ve been fine for me so $80 to go from a 38mm S0 to a 42mm S2 was a perfect.

I can already see that the battery life is a lot better. Took it off the charger at around 6 pm yesterday and woke up around 9 today and it was around 60%. That was with no workouts and in grayscale mode with minimum brightness.

Apologize in advance for posting info that people with or previously owned S2’s already know.

Took my S2 off the charger around 10am at 91%. Approximately 7:30pm at 69%. Way way better battery life than my S0 lol.
