Hi guys,

My graphite S6 is due to arrive shortly - very excited. I’ve brought it with the Milanese Loop.

For those of you with/getting the same model - which strap are you getting?

Would also welcome strap recommendations (I’m not very creative!) for the graphite!

Thanks.

Dont mean to poo poo in anyone’s Cornflakes but I had the Graphite on order and having noticed that it’s not as dark as the Space Black of previous gens, I thought I’d go see it in person.

It’s a serious print magnet. Within microseconds of having it handed over to me, newly wiped down, it was immediately full of prints. The oils change the colour. Swirls of green appear and maybe some blues appear with the least bit of oil.

It might look nice in a vacuum but in every day use, it’ll collect all sorts of marks from your arm and fingers. You’ll have to constantly wipe it down and even that will be a fruitless battle.

I asked to compare it to the silver stainless steel and loved that one. I purchased it on the spot. Returning my graphite when it arrives.

I’ve been wearing my graphite since yesterday, worked out with it this morning, no blue or green swirls to speak of at all. Ya it gets fingerprints on it but so did the space black, no difference.

I couldn’t be happier with it. This is the dream finish I didn’t even know I wanted until I saw it yesterday. I loved my space black models for 3 years but I honestly like graphite better since it adds a touch more contrast and reflectiveness. I think this makes it work better with a wider variety of watch bands, subject to opinion of course.

agree. I am torn between space black titanium and graphite but the color change of this graphite is very nice and making me lean towards keeping it. I’ve had the regular stainless before and like how graphite gives you the shine similar to the standard stainless with the added
Variance in the light. This splits the difference of giving you a darker stainless while giving you color variance between screen and case. I will say if you like uniformity between case and screen then graphite is probably not for you.

Are you Ok with the fact that you will be sacrificing the DLC coating in favor of the 316l stainless steel? Because if you damage the regular 316 L stainless, you can remove minor scratches, but it doesn’t have the damage resistance that DLC offers, essentially where it’s very difficult to scratch/scuff the casing.

I personally would keep the graphite, as it’s a subtle tone and not obviously as deep as a black as the space black Apple Watch was, but the scratch resistance alone is massive with the DLC on the casing.

I wouldn’t worry about it. Steel looks good worn in, and people spend thousands on steel Rolex watches that get beat to heck over the years.

Yeah, I agree. Stainless steel does have a really unique look once it has some scratches to ‘add to the character’. I think what happens is, when you spend so much on a ‘smart watch‘, you realize you want to ‘baby’ it at first, but once you get that initial first scratch after wearing it a while, you start to care less over the course of time.
