S7 too big for Magnetic Dock?

Anyone here with a S7 and the official $79 dock with similar thoughts? My wife's new S7 appears to be just a taaad to big to reliably stay on the dock. The Series 4 already felt to be pushing it.

There are two versions of the dock -- one made prior to the S4 and a very slightly larger one introduced quietly when the S4 came out. My guess is that OP has the older one. It barely accommodates the S4 with the puck up, so it makes sense that it would be too small for the S7.

Both models will work with any Apple Watch if the puck is in the downward position.

Like bluespark said, there are two versions of the charger. In series 1-3, the sensor where the puck attaches to also has a slightly different curvature to that of s4-7 so will affect how well it stays on the charger.
