Umm, yeah....

like Team MacOSX hasn't benefitted from a bunch of unaware college system admins...

No, we do not benefit from unknwing system admins in computer labs. All the people running these in labs on our team that I am aware of are the Sys admins. We have one guy who asked about it that had a school district of about 400-600 machines and he had to get permission first. That one is still in process...

Any who ask me directly or ask on the boards are given the team line, not without permission. We want this project to be successful, that means not tainting it because you don't agree that you are bound to an agreement just because you said you did. If everyone here truly cares about the project and its success, you need to be sure that the IT types, even the ones who don't have enough time to manage their infrastructure (that's right, they may not be stupid, they may be overworked and understaffed, which means you are taking advantage of them which will really piss them off) know what you are doing with their PC they have charge over. Do the right thing, not just the thing that nets you POINTS now and ill-will later.

The only reason I posted here is that other were trying to pull TeamMacOSX down with them by saying we are doing what our members are preaching against. I defend our team and our record on this matter. If you have evidence otherwise, let me know.

So remember.

Team Mac Os X has never broken rules before. Heck before this thread, they never knew the concept!

We don't need to say 'xyz' has computers running F@H that aren't his/hers.

We get the idea behind asking before installing, its a fact and it should be done. The fact is that its not always done, we try to uphold these rules.

I would never install on machines admin's didn't know about, but thats just me...

MacRumors doesn't have a set of guildlines so this is why this thread was created.

This is a MacRumors issue and we don't need Other teams (very respectfully however) talking about how they run things.

Noah -- If we were like you -- We would be you -- but we are different, we are not like you. You must understand this.
