Looking for a Thunderbolt 4 switch to switch between my personal MacBook Pro and work MacBook Pro. I found the Sabrent Thunderbolt 4 KVM Switch but I am concerned that is only has 60w charging, will this be an issue with my 16" MacBook Pros?
Won’t be a problem unless you’re doing very intensive video processing or the like. Even then, the battery will just discharge instead of keeping the charge.
But I would be concerned about the lack of EDID on this switch more than anything else. That means no clamshell mode, ie MacBook will go to sleep when you switch to the second host. See Amazon reviews.
I am very interested in this product, but have read some rather disconcerting reviews on Amazon concerning fried motherboards of the various things that are plugged into this thing. Does the OP (or anyone else) have any experiences they can share?
