i’ve never seen battery health drop like this, hopefully it’ll hit 79% before next year for the free battery swap

How is yours already at 98%? My 13 pro was at 93% after two plus years after I got it on launch day and didn’t dip under 100 until after a year. This seems way off. Lol.

The battery is perishable and will likely be replaced after 2 years of use. My 6S received a new battery from Apple earlier this week and it’s not even my main phone. I’ll replace my 13’s battery in early 2025.

i’ve used the same charging method with 14 PM, 13 PM, 11PM.. it’s just unlucky battery lottery. nothing to be worried about

If it’s anything like my 13 pro max, the battery health will stabilise at 81% a couple of months before your AppleCare is scheduled to expire.

You’re 100% right I think. Just a lottery on what battery you get. I had rubbish ones for 2 years in a row then my 14 Pro Max one was superb. No biggie really.

I remember when my 14 Pro Max was at 97% in November last year and it was an early October delivered phone. One of the main reasons I upgraded to the 15 Pro Max was so I could start fresh with a new battery. My 9/25 delivered 15 Pro Max is still at 100% with 26 battery cycles, so I think it’s back to normal. Before my 14 Pro, I had the XS Max that was at 79% in 2022 for reference.

it’s a data point in a world of stats. thanks for no constructive input on the matter.
My constructive input is to not worry about an algorithm within the 1st month of use.

If you have a battery problem get it replaced. It’s not good to stress about things you cannot control especially since it’s a reasonably affordable repair for a new battery.

This must be dependent on charging habits and method. I am currently at 47 cycles and still at 100%.

I've been doing the following with my 15PM (and this is purely for my own curiosity and not because I obsess over battery health)

I charge overnight with an old Apple 5W brick using a USB-A to USB-C cable... Since I charge overnight I don't really need the fast charging

I set the charge limit to 80% which is plenty of juice for me and lasts me the entire day easily. I usually get home in the evenings with about 30% left

I've never put it on a wireless charger... And I've only fast charged like 3 or 4 times on weekends in a pinch.

Again I am not doing this because I obsess over battery health, I am just doing it as sort of a little curiosity experiment for myself after my experience with the 14PM. And also because its not really limiting for use case.

Looks as if your actual original battery capacity was very close to the 4441mAh standard capacity. That's the reason it would go below 100% so quickly.
For example, my 14PM had a maximum original capacity of 4559 mAh, well above the 4323 mAh standard capacity. I currently show a max capacity of 4413 mAh (and at 176 charging cycles) so my battery health still shows 100% on my 14 month old launch day phone.

That sucks. Could it be because the A17 pro chip is too power hungry and makes the battery hot too frequently thus this drop?

I don’t see any issues for 15 plus to be honest. All the problems are for 15 pro and pro max in the entire forums

Use 3U tools or coconut battery and tell us who is the manufacturer? Is it Desay?
