Just picked up a new saddle brown leather case for my iPhone X and realised just how much aging and patina my old iPhone case has, 2 years worth!
Hope the new one will age just as well

ha. c'mon it's not going to stay new and pretty forever. i like how it ages. if i could slow it down i would.

it improves a lot. much better grip as it gets darker.

Thank you for posting... What a great effect and it appears that the open bottom of the case did not affect the case’s protection ability...

Gee, mine just looks dirty. I’ll have to find it. I have had saddle, red, and midnight and only the dark blue didn’t show dirt. Now, I have a silicone one. Brighter lighter colors are easier to see, but in leather, the look dirty fast! And I do know about leather patina. Is it possible that one of them is the other shade of brown Apple made the case?

Use a leather cleaner if you want to get some grime off. Lexol or something like that.

Ha, wicked. I’ve got a year old saddle brown for my 6s Plus and it was like looking fairly battered with a couple of annoying stains. I’m just about to receive a replacement (same) but after seeing this I kinda wish I wasn’t and had just continued anyway.

I like the juxtaposition between slick tech and knackered organic.

It makes the case look like a well worn pair of boots and a old jacket. People in the leather world LOVE their patina. I am one of those people. lol. I love how the saddle brown looks as it ages, it becomes distinct to how you used it. No two are ever exactly the same.
