iPod touch Safarai losing cookies when syncing

I view and participate in many forums such as this one. I log in and stay logged in. When I sync my Itouch to Itunes I loose the login cookies to all the forums and webpages and I have to sign in again.

Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?
