Safari 13.0, A Good Adblocker That Works?

Prior to this version I had used Adblock Ultimate I think the name was. Now it no longer works.
Does anyone have a good one they can recommend that works on Safari 13?

I tried Ablock and Ghostery Lite, both send my Macbook Pro's fans into overdrive, does Ka-Block work without this side effect? The website that always triggers it is Twitter, Google Voice does as well, thanks.

Just tried Ka-block, fans on, trying Adblock Plus, no fans on Twitter but I see banner ad on Youtube, if it can't block Youtube ads then I can't use it.

Update: OK, as far as Youtube and Adblock Plus, Adblock Plus opens with a box checked, allow acceptable ads, unchecked that and the Youtube banner ad is gone so I'm hopeful it will block Youtube ads, still no fans going off with Adblock Plus.

Not had any such issues with any blockers, well, that I'm aware of.

Most of the times the fan goes off while browsing the "This page is using a significant amount of energy"-message (or whatever is says) is soon to follow, and runaway javascript and/or video content are usually the culprits, and not whatever blocker I'm using (at the moment), as far as I can tell... 🙂

Thanks, now Adblock Plus is heating up on Twitter, I might have to use Chrome for Twitter, I really don't want to quit Safari but the way Apple changed things with these extensions has messed up the adblockers.
 
I like Wipr, not least because it blocks 90% of those annoying cookie GDPR popups from ever appearing, which has made the internet more usable again. I used it once before when it was free and wasn't that impressed but now it is much better.

I would but I don't feel like running another computer to employ it, shame it can't run on the MacOS, the odd thing is that I have Outlook.live.com whitelisted and turned off on Safari preferences but the fans still go off every single time I visit outlook webmail, also it sometimes slows the loading of outlook webmail, referring to Adblock Plus but every free one I tried does the same thing.
 
I'm testing/using NextDNS and I love it!. I uninstalled all adblocks and works the same with less memory drawbacks.

Problem is they give you a limit of queries per month, don't feel like getting involved in anything that will eventually charge you money.

For now, unless someone can chime in with a fix, will have to use Chrome plus Adblock and Cloudflare DNS for some extra privacy from my ISP.

Apple really needs to fix Safari.

Cloudflare DNS is loading some websites very slowly, on to Google DNS, so far, none of those hiccups.
 
Wipr is great and costs $1.99. Adguard is free and works extremely well too. There are other good options as well. I've used these for years and never have issues with site breakage or ads leaking through.

Are you using High Sierra, Safari 13, I'm looking for a free adblocker that does not cause the Macbook Pro (2015) fans to run heavy whenever I visit Twitter, Outlook WebMail, Youtube, sometimes Youtube won't even load with all of the adblockers I have tried, including AdBlock/AdblockPlus/GhosteryLite/Ka-Block.

I'll probably try AdGuard but the reviews on the AppStore are not promising, many complaints that Safari 13 has mucked up AdGuard as well.
 
Wipr doesn't block YouTube ads anymore for me for the past few months now. What a waste of money. Are the devs not aware of this?

I really miss uBlocks Origin.

Adblock on Chrome still blocks Youtube ads for me, Adblock Plus on Safari no longer blocks ads on Youtube, any other ad blocker I have tried sends my Macbook Pro's fans into overdrive.
 
I've come to the conclusion that Apple is in cahoots with google/youtube to prevent Safari users from blocking out ads there (to the extent that they are able to do so, while keeping ahead of the adblocking apps).

For a better "youtube experience", I'd suggest a browser OTHER THAN Safari (ANY version of Safari). The "Brave" browser might be a good one to try...
