Hi all, this is driving me nuts. I drag images out of the safari browser all the time. Now with beta 4, it adds a .JPEG extension, even after the original .JPG extension of the original images.

So if I drag "mactv.jpg" out of the browser to the desktop, I get "mactv.jpg.jpeg" on my freakin' desktop.

Does anyone know if this can be changed to mimic Safari 3 behavior?

Thanks in advance,
Sasha

Wow I didn't even realize it was doing that until you mentioned it. Great, now I have a folder full of pics ending in .jpg.jpeg.

I'll try and refrain from complaining since it's still in beta.

Just reported it as a bug.

work around to jpg.jpeg drag/drop

I'm so glad I found this thread. I thought I had lost my mind when I noticed this was happening.

This is not exactly a work around, but ...

Safari 4 does not exhibit this same behavior if you do a <control> click and chose save image to [download location] or save image as...

I can't wait for it to be fixed, because drag/drop is a heck of a lot easier.

wow yah this is driving me crazy. although it doenst seem to be doing this with other file extensions only .jpeg weird
