Safari: "400 Bad Request" only on Apple's sites

As mentioned in another thread (broken links icons in iTunes) I am always getting "400 Bad Request" messages (with miles-long cookies) when I navigate to Apple's sites (store, discussions, support...) with Safari 4. I deleted cookies but that helped only once. This problem migrated from 10.5.8 over 10.6 to 10.6.1 and does not show up with Firefox.
