Safari 5.1.2 problem

Ok so i updated to safari 5.1.2 on my new mid 2011 macbook air 13 inch base model with lion and now the zooming function doesn't work. I downloaded chrome and zoom works there and in iPhoto or preview zoom also works there. I don't like chrome for mac because it is not as smooth as safari. Chrome was my go to browser for windows though. But everything works in safari 5.1.2 as before and pdf viewing is better now but the two finger zooming doesn't work (with the trackpad). Does anybody else have this problem or know of a way to fix it?
