Safari 7 & Java

I may be missing something here, but I can't get java (7 Update 45) to run inside of Safari to check speedtest.net etc.

Speedtest.net (OOKLA Speedtest) is part of the MacKeeper scam. My WOT Safari extension flags it. You want SpeedTest.org. It has no such issues.

This site has some good speed and line quality tests that will run under Java on Safari so you don't need to install Flash. Just click the speedtest links along the left.

Really? I've always used speedtest.net. It is the first thing that comes up on Google. I hate MacKeeper, so I hope it is not part of that scam.

I think what MisterMe may be referring to it by clicking "Start Now" at the top of the page it downloads MacKeeper for you to install. So essentially it is an ad for MacKeeper.

MacRumors runs syndicated ads for these "cleaner" apps also. So eh.

True. I see advertisements for MacKeeper on many different websites, sometimes with popups for it.

I guess it is misleading here. The main problem is that it says "Start Now" instead of "Scan now." It also doesn't specify that it is a separate product.

Errr, it's not part of the MacKeeper scam, they are displaying an ad for it (as many websites do).

Then again, I run adblock so I didn't even realise it was there.
