Myspace is stupid and for teenagers, I know. However, I still am interested in knowing why Safari won't display Myspace pages correctly at all. Particularly, why does it act as if the CSS on Myspace pages simply isn't there?

Safari simply will not display any CSS put on any Myspace page by any user. So, there's more to the story than merely that Myspace isn't web standards compliant. At least, there should be a much more specific explanation.

well i will tell you this on my macbook it displays everything fine do you have a certain firewall on or what?

I am talking about when people have themes/css added to their pages -- it doesn't show -- only shows the default myspace style.

Have you compared viewing Myspace pages in Firefox to viewing them in Safari?

Wow, really? I can see most pages just fine, as tweaked as people make them. CSS included.

Safari most definitely does not display any CSS (themes, etc) put in by the owners of pages.

Try looking around at Myspace pages in Firefox (or any other browser) and then try looking at them in Safari. You will see what I am talking about. This would be a big deal to people who have Myspace pages.

Safari 3.0 has the same problem.

I've browsed through my friends and a couple of band/film sights...I just can't see the problem you are talking about. The only rendering differences I've seen are actually pages that Firefox actually failed to render completely or rendered cut off or with elements incorrectly sized.

Can you post screen shots of the problem your seeing?

Safari has always displayed my myspace page, even with my own CSS customizations. I've looked around and all the profiles I see look the same in Safari and Firefox, can you post an example profile - perhaps your own that shows different in Safari and Firefox so other can compare them?

Now I'm curious if I am missing stuff.

Most pages usually display fine for me. Some are horrible, like size 2 text and long loading times, but besides that its ok. Maybe try Camino, Firefox, and Opera and see if it still happens.

only real issue i have with myspace in safari is if anyone has a transparency layer over ther profile the page runs in super slow motion or gets stuck
