Not sure if this is an iPad problem exclusively, but,.. I'm using Safari on an iPad Pro 13 with iPadOS 18.2.1

I want to visit the US English site for aliexpress.com, but I can't.

I clicked an ad on DuckDuckGo that took me to the Netherlands site at nl.aliexpress.com Now no matter what I type in the URL bar, it always changes to nl.alixpress.com. If I click on a link to the US alixpress web site, it automatically changes it to nl.alixpress. if I type out the full -https://www.alixpress.com- it still takes me to nl.alixpress.com

Is there some way to remove nl.alixpress from the function that autocompletes URLs so I can go to the correct URL? I looked around and can't seem to find it.. (PS I'm not using a VPN).

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn’t guess that is the auto complete (as you can copy the url straight into the bar). This looks like a redirect - most likely from the website itself, it is detecting your IP and then redirecting you. I don’t know your location but I have just tried it (from the UK) and it does not redirect.

You need a web inspector open when you try to run the url to know for sure.

Thanks for the reply!

So I worked for about an hour troubleshooting this. I finally solved it by going in to:

Settings -> Apps -> Safari -> Advanced -> Website Data

From there, I chose 'Remove All Website Data'. (These are the cookies set by web sites). That fixed the problem. . As an afterthought, I suppose I could have just looked for the aliexpress cookie and removed it.
