Safari Autoplay and the NYT

I have Safari's Autoplay set to "Never" for the New York Times, but the videos still play when I visit the NYT website. Is there some other setting I need to disable it?

This drives me nuts too. I have not been able to figure out how to stop it.

Are you logged into the website? I'm not and they don't autostart. macOS 15.7.7 Safari 26.5
