Recently Safari has been locking up randomly. I can access everything else on the computer but Safari hickups for a second then goes back to normal. I have the current version..4.0.3. I get the spinning ball for about 10 seconds then back to normal. Does anyone know what causes this and how to fix it?

I had some problems with this, mostly while iTunes was running. I just stopped running iTunes while using Safari and the problem kind of went away.

Yes, I'm having the same problem! Every few minutes safari locks up with the spinning beach ball and itunes stops playing! It's getting so annoyning I've moved on to firefox and everything works perfectly! Hopefully they come out with a fix soon!

You can Reset Safari and delete cache. Does the console.app log show anything 'interesting' when Safari freezes?

Its weird now the computer hangs for a second when I am using firefox. Could it be somthing not related to safari?

Had a similar problem, but it would only hang for like a second or maybe two. I think the problem went away as a result of an update, but it wasn't that bad that I actually noticed when it ended. I am thinking though that it is something that is fixed in an update, but could very easy be wrong. Just my two cents for what it is worth.

I have a brand new MBP 15" and have a similar problem with both Safari and Firefox, they lock up intermittently and can last from 10-30 secs, sometimes crashing the browser. Apple did their usual of recommending PRAM or re-install of osx and software, none of which have resolved the situation!

Am gutted, this is my third machine and every single one has been plagued with problems, does anyone know of a fix as this is frustrating and I'm not prepared to just put up with it.
